Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to read and use our guides, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Our goal

We aim for the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What we have done

  • Semantic HTML with one main heading per page, landmarks and a logical heading order.
  • A “Skip to main content” link for keyboard users.
  • Everything interactive works with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline.
  • Text and interface colors meet AA contrast ratios; notes and warnings never rely on color alone.
  • Tables have header cells and scroll within their own focusable area on small screens.
  • Layouts adapt to small screens (down to 320 pixels wide) and browser zoom without horizontal page scrolling.
  • Minimal animation that respects the “reduce motion” setting.
  • Illustrations are decorative and hidden from screen readers; all information is in the text.

How we check

We run automated checks during development (page structure, accessibility rules, contrast and layout at several screen widths) and manual keyboard testing. This is a self-assessment; the site has not been audited by an outside organization.

Known limitations

Search requires JavaScript; without it, every guide can still be reached from the section pages and the all-guides page. External websites we link to are outside our control.
